District 7330 will begin its efforts in this Rotary Year with Strike-Out-Hunger by returning to Consol Energy Park in Washington, PA on Sunday, August 15, 2010. The Wild ![]()
Things will play the Normal, Illinois team (CornBelters) and our party will begin in the Picnic Pavilion at 5:30 with the all you can eat buffet. Last year’s efforts to support local food banks and pantries was a great success and as a District we hope to improve on that success.
Walt Olshanski will be the DG at that time and we will want to begin his year by making this event a kick-off for another outstanding effort in District 7330. All monies will be distributed to each of the county food banks based on participation of clubs in that county. If your club participates and contributes to the Strike Out Hunger event your local food bank will benefit.
The need has become greater as more and more families must rely on the food banks to supplement their needs. All clubs must work together as a District to attack this growing need. We have all felt the crush of the economy but we already know what we can accomplish on a united front. The Washington Club and the Canonsburg-Houston Club will host and coordinate this effort. We hope to see you at the game. Details are available on the order form and all clubs in the District will receive fliers to order tickets. The order form will also be found on the District website and on the Washington Rotary Club website - Click Here!
Last year we sold 186 tickets; let’s all try to increase our effort for 2010. This is a great Family of Rotary Day and those who have attended will tell you it is a good time.
